2020/21 Partnership Program - REVISED

Note:  We are currently approving and actioning all Partnership Programs.  To date we have in excess of 50 projects that are currently being assisted through our Partnership Programs.  Expenditure of funds in Partnership Programs is contingent on adherence to the Province’s Emergency Orders.

Regional Tourism Organization 7 (RTO7) is accepting applications for the 2020/21 Partnership Program. The program has been revised to reflect RTO7’s COVID-19 RECOVERY PLAN 2020/21. Revisions primarily include changes to leverages and to minimum contributions.  In the past, the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, & Culture Industries has provided the organization with additional funding, providing matching dollars can be raised from tourism partners. RTO7 will also contribute additional funds from its base funding towards these partnerships.

Strong partnerships and a coordinated, collaborative approach to product development, regional planning and marketing are essential to the future sustainability and increased competitiveness of tourism across BruceGreySimcoe.  Partnership projects will support RTO7’s business plan goals of improving profitability and encouraging consideration of the sustainability of tourism within the region.

Partnership Program Guidelines and Applications can be found below.  Applications are now being accepted and will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the relevant application deadlines below or until available funds have been allocated to approved projects (please note it is therefore critical to get your application in as soon as possible!). Note that application approval is based on merit and alignment with RTO7 business goals.  Applications will be reviewed in the order received.  Please anticipate several weeks review time through the early spring period.

  • The introduction of a $200/approved application Administration Fee (for a limited time RTO7 will provide to the primary applicant Environics Analytics analysis of postal code data they provide – see Guidelines for details) – waived for 2020/21
  • Expansion of the Signage Partnership Program to include elements of tourism wayfinding and trails signage that are not addressed by the RTO7 Signage specifications, and ARE
o   Provincially recognized and executed in the majority of Ontario’s Tourism Regions.
o   In support of RTO7’s targeted activities.
o   Long-lasting and durable in construction (RTO7 reserves the right to have an expert review the
fabrication specifications to ensure they meet a minimum standard).
o   An appropriate design for the use e.g. if on roadways, legible at driving speed, etc.
o   Installed as per governmental regulations relevant to the installation.  RTO7 does not assume any responsibility for the design and installation of the signage.
  • Examples of this might include some Bruce Trail signage, Conservation Area signage, Great Lakes Waterfront Trail signage, etc.
  • Note that the leverage for all signage projects in 2020/21 is now $1 : $0.50
